Promotional Products Case Study – White Ribbon Association

The White Ribbon Association provides education about alcohol, drugs, tobacco and problem gambling. They produce a wide range of non-judgmental, factual resources that are used in schools, colleges, youth projects and community settings. They also deliver educational sessions and health events to create further awareness of the impact alcohol, drugs, tobacco and gambling can have on the individual, family and wider society.

Objective

The charity often run interactive workshops which would require a low cost, quality pen that could be given away and used during activities. They had previously used other pens but had rebranded and needed updated designs.

They were also looking for a quantity of USB sticks. The charity had recently developed a series of educational workbooks for use in schools and provide PowerPoint documents that accompany the workbooks. They required a printed USB that could fit into their workbook folders.

Strategy and Execution

Logo X offered the Contour Pen as a solution immediately for the pens. This is one of our most popular plastic pens and offered a low cost solution for the client while still looking like a quality pen.

Regarding the USBs the key element was fitting them into the folders. Logo X suggested that rather than getting a standard bulkier USB stick, to instead go for a thin credit card USB that would fit neatly into their folders. We also suggested that rather than print just their logo onto them but to instead print their details in the style of a business card. This would allow them to use the USB not just as a tool to store the information but also a reminder of the business details and make the USB stand out more.

Results

Pen

White Ribbon Association have had great feedback from their events so far since using the new products. Mary Ayres, Senior Administration Officer for the charity, said “We are extremely satisfied with the Contour pen; it is excellent quality for the price we paid and is a great ‘giveaway’ for our organisation.”

USB

The USB sticks have also been really popular as a product. Mary stated “The credit card USB was an ideal solution that fit perfectly into our workbooks, and the suggestion from Logo X to print them as a business card has worked really well. We’ve had great feedback from our events team, and we’ll be sure to come to Logo X next time we’re looking for promo ideas.”
